Dear parents,
As you may already know, we are hosting our annual Early Childhood STEM (ECSTEM) conference next week on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4. (See http://www.ecstem.org for more info.)
This conference draws experts in STEM education from all over the country. The presenters are at the top of their respective fields, and the CCC teachers are no exception. Our teachers are an integral part of our planning process for the ECSTEM Conference. They work throughout the year to create detailed PowerPoint presentations about our curriculum. These are used for training and presentations at the conference as well. We are proud that in addition to several of our lead teachers presenting, other teachers are volunteering to co-present to strengthen their presence in early childhood STEM education.
This year our teacher presenters include:
・ Monica Dolan and Vien-Vi Le – “STEM Environments” (Friday, 10:30 am)
・ Dayita Datta – “Sing, song, bounce, and jump” (Friday, 1 pm)
・ Olivia Garcia and Gretchen Kammerer – “Understanding Change and Growth Over Time” (Saturday 10:30 am)
・ Dayita Datta – “Sing, Play and Dance Creative and Improvised Patterns by Exploring Math in Music” (Saturday 1 pm)
・ Olivia Garcia and Daniela Perez – “Sewing, Weaving and Patterning” (Saturday, 1 pm)

・ Retha Jones and Vanessa Guerra – “Light and Sound with Toddlers” (Saturday, 3 pm)

・ Konstantin Batygin will be our Keynote Speaker on Friday at 8:30 am.
・ James Maloney and Julius Su will present “Inclined to Lend a Hand: Explaining and Visualizing STEM Concepts from The Little Engine that Could with American Sign Language (ASL)” on Saturday at 3 pm.
We would like to extend an invitation to all CCC parents to attend part or all of the conference. Registration is free for parents, but we do require that you register with us ahead of time. If you would like to attend, please send an e-mail or speak to Seadra no later than 5:30 pm next Tuesday, Jan. 31.
